Fundraising for schools is how jumblebee's story began, so we have all the expertise needed to help you hit your fundraising goals!
There are lots of different ways that we can support school fundraising:
- Online auctions or prize draws throughout the year
- Auctions for large annual events
- Student-run auctions
- Tickets for events like fireworks, fairs, school plays etc.
beeClassic
As soon as you set up an online auction on our website homepage (jumblebee.co.uk) you’ll receive an email packed with useful information to help you make your page look amazing. Whether you’re setting up an auction to run mid-term or for an end of term event, here are some useful tips:
● Page theming - tailor the look of your page by matching it to your school colours
● QR codes - give parents and supporters a QR code so they can easily access the page
● Reordering - sprinkle your best items all the way through your auction, so bidders see everything on offer as they scroll through.
● Buzz items - if you want to add to your auction, we can supply prizes at no extra cost
● End time – we recommend setting an end time between 7 and 9pm to maximise engagement and increase competition!
Prize Ideas
Think outside the box for prizes! Your prizes do not all need to be big and flashy. They could be simple, like offering two hours of dog walking or baking homemade treats. You don’t need hundreds of items to run an auction; even just one or two donated prizes will be sure to raise funds for your cause.
Having run thousands of school fundraisers over the years, we have collected a catalogue of ideas for free prizes that every school can offer. Please get in touch with us at support@jumblebee.co.uk and we would be delighted to help you get started!
Prize Draws
If you find yourself with a donation from a parent or benefactor mid-term, why not run a prize draw? This is simple to do with jumblebee and starts with setting up a ticket shop on our homepage. Supporters can buy tickets online and you can electronically draw the winner. You could even use this at your dinner events, as it’s certainly less hassle than pen, paper, and cash in envelopes! Large fundraising events
For larger, annual events, schools love using our beePro service, with iPad bidding tablets, dedicated jumblebee Wi-Fi and one of our superb event teams. Your parents and supporters can also bid on their phones, and we can supply a QR code so it’s easy for everyone to get involved. Read more about beeFree
Student-run auctions
This is often used by the students themselves as a business initiative project. At one of our partner schools the Head Boy and Girl run an annual auction to raise money for their chosen charity. Please get in touch with us at support@jumblebee.co.uk to get started with your student auctions.
Tickets
You can sell tickets to all your events, whether it's an Annual Fundraising Dinner, Christmas Fair, Bonfire Night, Spring Ball, Summer Ball or School Play. Our e-ticketing system is super simple to manage. Getting set up is free and you can do it on any device. You can set up ticket types (e.g., family passes or concessions) and we can create a QR code for you to share with supporters making it really easy to find and buy tickets. Read more about Tickets
Promoting your auction
Once you're set up, promotion is the key to raising as much money as possible. Follow these steps to ensure that you get the news of your event out to as many people as you can:
- Open your auction before the event date
- Regularly share the link and/or QR code via your socials
- Tag us on Instagram @jumblebee_auctions to widen your audience
